Ijeoma Oguagha, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Carthage. She sees patients from newborn to 18 years of age. “I absolutely adore children. After seeing my little sister sick as a child and watching her amazing doctors save her life, I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician.
“As a pediatrician, I want my patients and their parents to always know they can be honest with me. It is important that they feel comfortable enough to be honest without fear of being judged, because that is how I can provide the best care possible,” she said.
Dr. Oguagha’s stresses preventive care and leading a healthy life, so she can watch her patients grow into healthy adults.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Oguagha enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, crocheting and listening to gospel music. She also speaks the Nigerian language Igbo.
